Lele's favourite pastime

Lele likes to sing alot. I think singing's his fave pastime. He will sing in his pram, at home, outside, in his cot, anywhere. Today he hummed so loudly in the lift packed with people I felt mildly embarrassed...

About 1 or 2 months ago, we noticed that he would start humming whenever he is in happy mood, esp when both mama and papa were with him. Once, papa was carrying him when he started humming a tune. Papa exclaimed,

"Is he humming 'twinkle twinkle little star'?"

The next day when Lele started humming again, I listened closely and realised that the tune sounded vaguely like 'twinkle twinkle little star'. Over the days, Lele began to hum more and more, and the tunes sounded more and more like 'twinkle twinkle little star'.

About a week later, papa, Lele and I were off to somewhere in the neighbourhood with Lele in papa's arms. All throughout the 10mins walk, papa hummed the tune of 'this old man' to Lele. When we reached our destination 10mins later, Lele caught us by BIG surprise when he started humming 'this old man'.

Till now, his fave songs still are 'twinkle twinkle little star' and 'this old man'. In fact, I think he hums 'this old man' more times than 'twinkle twinkle little star'. I'm not sure if it's because the tune of 'this old man' is more challenging hence provides more motivation for him to perfect it. See, somewhere in the middle of the song goes like this, "...with a nick nack teddy bear, give the dog a bone..." which Lele had trouble with. After so many tries, Lele can do "...with a nick nack teddy bear..." and about half of "...give the dog a bone..."
Nowadays, he likes to substitute humming with words he know, such as yeye, papa, bear and where. Needless to say, he gets the most attention and praises from nainai when he uses yeye. Kekeke... If in a great mood, Lele will start singing on request. When we say to him,

"Lele, sing the yeyeye song."

He sometimes galdfully oblidge. But sometimes he'll just shake his head with a cheeky grin!
